Alumni EXHIBITION
Feb. 26-March 26
The artistic works of Stritch alumni Sue (Goetz) Lawton and Anna (Fieldbinder) Kordsmeier, will be on display in the Northwestern Mutual Art Gallery Feb. 26 - March 26. The opening reception is Feb. 26 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. with live music by The Vitrolum Republic from 6-8 p.m.
Both artists incorporate mixed media into their acrylic paintings.
Lawton’s "Tibia: Imagery from the Surrealist Opera" is based on an opera parody she wrote shortly after the 2004 presidential election. The story is meant to playfully poke fun at both 19th century romantic opera and 21st century politics.
Kordsmeier’s abstract topographies investigate the elusive and impermanent quality of memory.
